PLACL stands for Poly-L-Lactide-co-ε-caprolactone, a hybrid material, the components of which (PCL and PLLA) have been used as fillers and threads for many years in the cosmetology industry. Both substances are widely used as an injectable facial rejuvenation treatment which works to stimulate collagen for a younger look.

PLACL threads are a relatively new option for thread lifting – a procedure which works to physically lift the facial structure and tissues into a higher and more youthful position.

The primary lifting effect is provided due to the presence of notches on the threads, while the secondary lifting effects are delivered during the formation of fibrosis around the threads during the healing process. Collagen formation occurs around the threads and their cogs, producing a lifting effect.

The PLACL thread biodegrades completely within 180-220 days through the process of hydrolysis, leaving the final products H?O and CO?. The lifting effect lasts up to 24-36 months.
